First edition, first printing of the iconic children's book, ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'' by Roald Dahl, in original first printing dust jacket. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. Profusely illustrated by Joseph Schindelman, with all first printing points present: six-line colophon on last page, mustard yellow endpapers and top edge brown, Oompa-Loompas are black and African, not orange or white. Housed in the original first printing dust jacket with the $3.95 price, and with no ISBN number on the rear panel as called for. Some chipping and small amount of paper loss to jacket, in very good condition. Light shelf wear with no other significant flaws, book is very good to near fine.
