Edward Gorey signed first limited edition of his second miniature book, ''Q.R.V.'', one of the rarer 120 deluxe copies hand-colored by Gorey in metallic casein, with leather title to spine, and slipcased, of which only 85 were made available for sale. Signed by Gorey on the limitation page, where he notes that this is copy #76. Boston: Anne & David Bromer, 1989. Consisting of 29 illustrations paired with rhyming verses, the notion of ''Q.R.V.'' is delightfully defined around its edges, in part, ''They caught him in an act of sin, behaving flagrantly; Judicial wrath decreed a bath in salts of Q.R.V.'', or ''When someone's tongue has reached your lung, it's time to use your knee; Regain your air of savoir faire by quaffing Q.R.V.''. Miniature hand-bound cloth book with paper label on front and leather label on spine measures just over 1.5'' x 1.25''. Additionally housed in slipcover with label hand-illustrated by Gorey in metallic casein measuring 1.625'' x 1.5''. Near fine.
