A near fine first limited edition book set from Edward Gorey's self-published imprint, The Fantod Press, complete with the original envelope, and each signed by Gorey either with his own name or with his pseudonym Regera Dowdy. New York: The Fantod Press, 1966. This is the very first set released by Gorey under The Fantod Press, a limited edition of 500 consisting of: ''The Pious Infant'', bound in lavender illustrated wrappers, and signed by Gorey as his pseudonym ''Mrs Regera Dowdy'' on the title page; ''The Inanimate Tragedy'', bound in illustrated blue wrappers, and signed by Gorey as himself on the title page; ''The Evil Garden'', bound in yellow illustrated wrappers, signed by Gorey as his pseudonym, the translator Mrs. Regera Dowdy. Books measure 3.375'' x 5.5'', 4.5'' square and 6'' x 5'' respectively, with printed envelope measuring 8.125'' x 5.5''. All three books are exceptionally well preserved, much more so than usually found with this set, all in near fine condition.
