John F. Kennedy typed letter signed as Senator, undated by on his personal U.S. Senate letterhead, circa 1954 based on the content. Kennedy responds to a constituent from Massachusetts regarding funding for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Senate bill 3610. Visible portion of single page letter measures 7.5'' x 8.25'', double-matted and framed with a photo of the President to 24.5'' x 18''. Not examined out of frame; shallow fold through signature, tape and two holes along left edge, and some abrasion at top. Overall in very good condition with letter displaying nicely.
