Walter Cunningham signed 16'' x 20'' dramatic photo of the Apollo 7 rocket launching into space on 11 October 1968. Cunningham writes a very personal message honoring Wernher von Braun and his importance to America's Apollo program, ''I've met a lot of people in important positions, and Wernher von Braun was one that I never had any reluctance to give whatever kind of credit they deserve, as I think back now on all of the top managers that I met at NASA, many of them were very, very good.
