Lot of three Walt Disney signed books, each inscribed by Disney to cinematographer James R. Simon, who worked on several of the Disney ''True-Life Adventures'' nature documentaries such as ''The Vanishing Prairie''. All three are documentary art books, illustrated with photographs taped onto the pages, to complement the nature documentaries:
(1) ''Walt Disney's Vanishing Prairie'', signed by Disney on the half-title page, ''To Jim Simon / My thanks and appreciation - / Walt Disney'' in blue fountain pen. New York: Simon and Schuster, no date. Separation starting to front hinge, with signature leaf detached, and mild shelf wear, otherwise near fine.
(2) ''Walt Disney's Beaver Valley'', signed by Disney in blue ballpoint on the title page, ''To Jim Simon - / With appreciation of your many contributions - / Walt Disney''. New York: Simon and Schuster, no date. Light shelf wear, else near fine.
(3) ''Walt Disney Desert Vivant'' (French edition of ''The Living Desert''), signed by Disney on the flyleaf in blue fountain pen, ''To Jim Simon / My appreciation and best wishes / Walt Disney''. Paris: Societe Francaise du Livre, no date. Mild shelf wear, else near fine. Each book measures 9.25'' x 11.625''. Each book has some pencil notations inside to indicate photographs taken by Simon. From the James Simon estate, and accompanied by some of his ephemera including a few postcards.
