Complete issue comprising twenty-seven pages of original ''Sugar and Spike'' comic art hand-drawn by creator Sheldon Mayer, and signed by him throughout. Pages are from issue #18, the September 1958 book featuring the stories ''First Crack at Nursery School'' (6 pages complete), ''Write Your Own Comic Page!'' (1 page complete), ''Volunteer Repairmen'' (6 pages complete), ''Pint-Size Pin-Ups'' (2 pages complete), ''The Losing Business'' (4 pages complete), ''Worm Turns'' (1 page complete), ''Poky Problem'' (1 page complete), and ''First Dream'' (6 pages complete). Large pages of original artwork by Mayer each measure approximately 12.5'' x 17.5'' on thick illustration paper, except page 24 which measures 10'' long; page 1 is also in two pieces glued to backing. Most pages have DC Comics header at top, and an additional copied page with letters from the readers is also included. Some dampstaining to pages 2-6 and 10-12, otherwise in very good plus condition.
