Large Nuremberg book signed by 18 of the most notorious Nazi defendants during the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials, accompanied by two ID cards of the U.S. guard who acquired the signatures. Book, entitled ''Nurnberg'' by Charles W. Alexander, was published after Nuremberg was selected as the city for the trials, and includes photos of the city as well as the trial, including the Palace of Justice, defendants' cell block, witnesses, defendants, prosecutors, etc. Nuremberg: Karl Ulrich & Co., 1946. Book is signed by the following 18 defendants on pages throughout: Hermann Goring, Karl Donitz, Hans Frank, Wilhelm Frick, Walther Funk, Alfred Jodl, Ernst Kaltenbrunner, Wilhelm Keitel, Konstantin von Neurath, Franz von Papen, Erich Raeder, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Alfred Rosenberg, Fritz Sauckel, Arthur Seyss-Inquart, Baldur von Schirach, Albert Speer, and Julius Streicher. Some individuals date their signatures to October 1946, at the end of the trial shortly after sentencing took place. Book measures 9.5'' x 12.5''. Leather binding with illustrated boards. Mild dampstaining to front board, overall very good condition with bold signatures. Lot also includes two identification cards of the guard, John J. Pankosky of the U.S. Army's 26th Infantry: (1) International Military Tribunal card issued 27 July 1946 with Pankosky's photo. Measures 4'' x 2.75''; (2) Pankosky's Service Identification Card issued 14 March 1942, signed by Pankosky on verso with his fingerprint. Measures 3.75'' x 2.75''. Wear to both cards, very good condition.
