Volume is comprised of 14 short stories, several considered to be Hemingway's finest work. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1927. Book weighs 15.5 oz. (compared to 15 oz. for the second printing), with additional first printing points present: the date of 1927 on title page, and unbattered page number ''3''. First printing dust jacket shows $2.00 price, and contains no review blurbs on front flap. Book measures 5.25'' x 7.625''. Handsomely bound in black boards with gilt text block on front cover and spine. Goldenrod endpapers show a charging bull. Minute cocking to spine, and previous owner's stamp on front free endpaper; very good plus condition. Dust jacket has some loss of paper on spine, light soiling and creasing; very good condition.
