Abraham Lincoln Campaign Button With a Ferrotype of the President -- From the 1864 Presidential Campaign in the Rarer Pinback Format

1864 campaign button featuring a ferrotype image of President Abraham Lincoln, with ''A. Lincoln'' printed above his head. A brass holder encircles the portrait, upon which is engraved ''FOR PRESIDENT / 1864''. This button is worn via a pinback, less common than the medallion format where a hole was made to the brass for hanging as a necklace. Measures 1'' in diameter. Darkening to portrait, light surface scratching to emulsion and some tarnishing to brass. Overall in very good condition with pinback still loosely attached.
