Stan Laurel typed letter signed, dated 14 June 1963 to his pen-pal friend Bill Brown. In this interesting and sometimes humorous letter, Laurel writes on a variety of topics, including not making money from the Laurel & Hardy films, and also the scandal surrouding silent film star Roscoe Arbuckle. Letter reads in part, ''...Yes Roscow Arbuckle was involved in a Murder situation in San Francisco, several years ago, he was finally acquitted, but it ruined his career, his films were banned entirely by many powerful Women's Clubs etc. Never knew exactly how much he was implicated in the death of the girl at that wild party...Yes I know there are a lot of our...old films being sold in short lengths for home movie collectors - someone is making a lot of dough for themselves & you know thats not me.!...No I have no Sons - just One Daughter & 2 Grand Children (to my knowledge??!)...[signed] Stan Laurel''. Single page letter on stationery from the Oceana Apartment Hotel, where Laurel lived, measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. In near fine condition, accompanied by original mailing envelope.
