Impressive photo of William Randolph Hearst, signed upon the mat to Lorna Velie, his daughter-in-law married to his son George Randolph Hearst. The large, stately photo measures 10.25'' x 13.25'', affixed to a presentation mat measuring 11'' x 15'', upon which Hearst writes, ''To Lorna from her Pop / With good wishes for good luck for a good girl / William Randolph Hearst''. With photographer's stamp at lower right, ''James Manatt / Hollywood''. Not examined out of frame, which measures 16'' x 20.25''. Mild silvering to photo, overall near fine condition.
