John Tyler autograph letter signed, giving an early autograph collector his example. Writing from his home in Sherwood Forest shortly after his Presidency on 9 June 1846, Tyler writes, ''Sir, At the earliest moment which has been allowed me, I reply to your letter of the 4th May, and with pleasure furnish you my autograph...John Tyler'', with a distinctive paraph accenting his signature. Measures 6.75'' x 5''. Very small hole just above his signature, light toning and folds; overall very good condition.
