Typed letter signed by ''Charlotte's Web'' author E.B. White. Letter is signed EB White'' in red ink. Addressed to teacher James Plummer letter reads in part, ''...I have a request from you, asking that I sign a release of copyrighted material. It's not clear to me just what this material is, but in any event, I don't want to publish anything of mine...I am sorry to disappoint you and the sixth graders...'' Letter measures 8.5'' x 10.75'' and contains tears and creasing to edges. Accompanied by envelope datelined Brooklyn, 11 June 1983. Overall very good condition.
