A large lot of items belonging to Con Conrad, who received the first ''Academy Award for Best Original Song'' in 1934 for ''The Continental,'' featured in the Ginger Rogers & Fred Astaire movie, ''The Gay Divorcee.'' Lot includes handwritten music for Conrad's compositions, news clippings about his work, candid biographical sketches written by his secretary, his personal photo album and scrapbook, and two binders filled with music business contracts. Also included is a 1920 certificate of membership in the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers, as well as several Radiotone vinyl records of Conrad's songs. A wealth of Con Conrad memorabilia serving as a testament to his extraordinary career in music. Overall very good condition.
