George Washington franking signature, likely signed in 1775 when Washington was in Philadelphia for the Continental Congress. Excellent large signature, ''Go Washington / at Philadelphia'' in Washington's hand, along with the date 1775 written perpendicularly in another hand. Washington was in Philadelphia for approximately six weeks in 1775, during which time he was chosen as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army. Slip measures 6.75'' x 1.5''. Mounted on a slip of paper, overall very good condition with a large signature.
