Handwritten letter signed by French sculptor Frederic Bartholdi, best known for designing the Statue of Liberty. Undated letter in French to a Mr. Ney thanks his friend for some cards and arranges a time to meet. Letter reads in part, ''...I intended to...bring you the Niagara photograph...I would need to see you tomorrow...at your house or mine as you like...'' He signs and underlines, ''Bartholdi''. Glue residue and newspaper remnant to verso of 4.25'' x 5'' blue note paper, else very good. Address panel on verso is postmarked, ostensibly from Paris.
