WWII German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel signs ''Rommel'' in pencil to a German-language document datelined North Africa, 6 February 1942. ''The Desert Fox'' here recognizes the valor of one of his soldiers by approving award of the War Merit Cross. Rommel, who died in 1944, is rumored to have been part of the conspiracy to kill Hitler. 8'' x 11.5'' document is printed on both the front and verso in blue type. Near fine.
