First edition, early printing of ''David Copperfield'' by Charles Dickens. London: Bradbury & Evans, 1850. A rare early printing with the full suite of 40 plates by H.K. ''Phiz'' Browne. Bound in the publisher's original olive green cloth boards, with blindstamped decoration and gilt titling to spine. Original yellow-coated endpapers. Measures 5.25'' x 9''. This copy shows all of the first printing points aside from ''screamed'' on p. 132. In good condition with sunning and cracking to spine, some wear and discoloration to boards, hinges starting to separate, foxing and light dampstaining.
