Original movie title art crediting John Wayne for ''How the West Was Won''. Large pane of glass is hand-painted ''John Wayne'' in western-style lettering in yellow, black and orange. Pane is framed handsomely between a reproduction of the background illustrated with a western scene, set back for depth, and an additional sheet of glass on the outside. Measures 33'' x 23''. Some of the black paint for shadow effect has flaked off, else near fine condition. Original title art is very rare and collectible, with many examples selling for over $200,000. This is the only John Wayne glass title art ever known to be on the market.
