People's Choice Award for the gigantically popular show ''The Simpsons'', awarded during their 2nd season in 1991. The longest-running American sitcom of all-time won for ''Favorite New Television Comedy Series'', their very first of 6 People's Choice awards. Idolized worldwide, ''The Simpsons'' has aired for 27 consecutive seasons, spawned a feature-length film which grossed over $500 million and influenced countless shows, writers and comedians. The heavy glass statue was designed by Swedish designer Olle Alberius for the prestigious Orefors glassware company. ''Orrefors / Olle Alberius / 1990 / No 41 BE.'' is etched to the square base of the statue. Top part of the statue features an image of hands clapping within a candle's flame. Weighs 11 lbs. Measures 13.5'' tall and 4'' across the base. Tiny scratch to front side of base, in overall near fine condition. From the Sam Simon Estate.
