President Rutherford B. Hayes large 15" x 20.5" signed photograph, posing alongside his wife, First Lady Lucy Webb Hayes. Rutherford signs beneath his image, "With the best wishes R.B. Hayes". Hayes won one of the most hotly contested Presidential elections in history, resulting in the "Compromise of 1877," an agreement that ended the military occupation of the South. Matte photo measures 15" x 20.5". Light dampstaining and creasing along border, and part of ink inscription removed. Very good condition.
