Garth Williams Initialed Print Proof From 1953 Edition of ''Little House in the Big Woods'' -- Laura Ingalls Wilder's Series of Beloved Children's Books

Garth Williams initialed drawing for ''Little House in the Big Woods'', the first in Laura Ingalls Wilder's ''Little House on the Prairie'' series. In this 6.75'' x 6'' drawing, Laura, Pa and Ma are shown near their log house in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. To illustrate the 1953 edition of the series, Williams visited the places where the family lived. The printed illustration proof, which is the same size it appears in the book, is initialed in ink by Williams; ''3.05051'' is penciled on the verso. Fine condition.
