Garth Williams Signed Sketch From 1953 Edition of ''Little House on the Prairie'' -- Cozy Scene from ''Little House in the Big Woods''

Garth Williams signed print proof for Laura Ingalls Wilder's ''Little House in the Big Woods'', the first in her ''Little House on the Prairie'' series of children's books. Williams illustrated the 1953 edition with pencil, charcoal and ink drawings. In this scene, which is the same size it appears in the book, Ma tucks Laura and Mary into bed in their log cabin in the Big Woods of Wisconsin, their home before they set off across the prairie. Williams initials the 6.5'' x 6'' print in ink and pencils ''3.05118'' on the verso. Fine.
