Garth Williams Signed 1953 ''Little House on the Prairie'' Print Proof -- Nighttime Sounds on the Prairie

Garth Williams initialed print for the Laura Ingalls Wilder ''Little House on the Prairie'' series of favorite children's books. Williams illustrated the 1953 edition of the series. He visited the places where the family lived before beginning his drawings, and would have heard the eerie howling depicted in this scene that the Ingalls heard. This 5.5'' x 3.5'' print proof, the size it appears in the book, is initialed in ink by Williams. He pencils ''3.16675'' on the verso. Minor discoloration, mostly to top right edge, else near fine.
