Garth Williams initialed print for the 1953 edition of the ''Little House on the Prairie'' children's books. The simplicity of his illustrations combined well with Wilder's first person accounts of a young child's innocent observations of the world around her. By visiting the places where the family lived and meeting with the author, Williams got a feel for the settings that permeates his drawings. He initials this 5.75'' x 4'' print proof, the size it appears in the book, in ink and pencils ''3.05031'' on the verso. Near fine.
