Garth Williams Signed Print From 1953 Edition of ''Little House on the Prairie'' -- Pa and Mr. Scott Lower a Candle Into the Well While Laura Looks On

Garth Williams signed proof print for Laura Ingalls Wilder's ''Little House on the Prairie'', the second in her beloved series of children's books. In this scene, Pa and Mr. Scott test the new well for fumes by lowering a lit candle. The pencil work is bold and intricate. Williams initials the approximately 6'' x 6'' drawing in ink and pencils ''3.05074'' on verso. Illustration is the same size it appears in the book. Cut on a diagonal with uneven edges and a small 1'' tear not affecting art. Very good condition.
