Garth Williams Signed Print From 1953 Edition of ''Little House on the Prairie'' -- A Horse Drawn Wagon Pushes Through the Rain

Garth Williams initialed proof print for Laura Ingalls Wilder's ''Little House on the Prairie'' books. Williams illustrated the 1953 edition of the series originally published in the 1930s and 1940s. He visited the places where the family lived to get a feel for the landscape before beginning his elegant drawings. The drawing on this 5.5'' x 4.25'' sheet, the same size it appears in the series, captures the hardscrabble life as a wagon plods through rain. Williams initials in ink and pencils ''3.16702'' on verso. Uneven edges, else fine.
