Ernest Hemingway used bullfighting ticket and weekly bullfighting calendar from 8 August 1959. Hemingway wrote about his experiences at the bullfights in the summer of 1959 for a series of articles for Life magazine that would turn into Hemingway's final book ''The Dangerous Summer'', posthumously published in 1985. Both pieces are part of a collection of items owned by Roberto Herrera Sotolongo, Hemingway's close friend and personal secretary when he lived in Havana, Cuba. Paper ticket lists the numbered section Hemingway sat in, and both colorful pieces contain lively depictions of a bullfighting scene. Ticket measures 5.5'' x 3''. Schedule measures 5.75'' x 4''. Part of ticket removed to gain entrance to event, and schedule has some spotting. Overall in very good condition.
