Dwight D. Eisenhower signed first edition of ''Crusade in Europe''. Published by Doubleday & Company, Inc.: New York: 1948. Inscribed on the half-title page in blue pen by Eisenhower, ''From Bill to George -- witnessed by / Dwight D. Eisenhower''. This book was acquired from the estate of George Allen who was close friends with William Robinson and Eisenhower, a trio commonly referred to as ''The Gang''. Bound in brown cloth boards, hardcover volume contains 559pp. with 44 maps and 16 illustrations. Comes with photocopied picture of Allen, Robinson and Eisenhower during one of their many golf outings. Measures 6'' x 9''. Penciled note on front free endpaper, minor fading along spine, otherwise near fine condition.
