War hero and aviation pioneer Henry ''Hap'' Arnold signed military portrait photo. Arnold was taught to fly by the Wright Brothers and was the only person to hold a five-star rank in two different U.S. military services. Inscription on bottom reads: ''To 'Jim' Luckey- Thanks for making my stay up the McKenzie so pleasant / HH Arnold / General U.S. Army / Commanding Air Force''. Entire photo with border measures 11'' x 14'', portion showing Arnold measures 7'' x 9''. Minor rippling on top edge, otherwise in near fine condition.
