James Baldwin Signed Limited Edition of His ''Go Tell It on the Mountain''

James Baldwin signs a limited edition copy of his 1953 novel ''Go Tell It on the Mountain'', a semi-autobiographical account of his childhood in Harlem. Signed clearly in brown ink on the fly-leaf, ''James Baldwin''. Franklin Library: Pennsylvania: 1979. In his introduction to this edition, Baldwin tells readers: ''...I came to write the novel...because I...was born in a certain time and place...'' The 232pp. novel, bound in red leather with gilt lettering and edges and measuring 6'' x 9.5'', is illustrated by American artist Burt Silverman. Overall in fine condition.
