George Custer signed envelope, made out in Custer's hand to his wife ''Mrs. G.A. Custer''. Envelope sent to his wife Libbie in Monroe, Michigan is postmarked 3 October from Leavenworth, Kansas, where Custer was court-martialed in 1867 for being AWOL after visiting his wife without permission. Envelope measures 5.25'' x 3.25'' with toning, torn left edge from opening, and small paper loss to lower right. Very good.
