White House response card on behalf of John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy, appreciating the support following the death of their newborn son Patrick Bouvier Kennedy. The card, postmarked 20 August 1963, reads in black italic print, ''The President and Mrs. Kennedy deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness and expression of sympathy at this time.'' Patrick died only 2 days old from respiratory distress syndrome on 9 August 1963, just two months before his father's assassination. White House card with embossed Presidential seal measures 6'' x 3.5'' and includes original envelope. Light mark on verso of card; envelope is toned. Overall near fine condition.
