Dated 29 December 1960, Crawford's letter to a fan on Season's Greetings stationery reads in part, ''My dear Patricia, Thank you so much for all of your kindnesses and your generosity to my family and me. All of us are so deeply grateful to you. The Santa Claus face decoration with the red felt streamer is just enchanting to behold, and so festive. My lovely, lovely bracelet in silver, with the profiles of my three daughters and my son, with their names engraved on each profile, is just exquisite and so personalized. My Friendship Garden Toilet Water, Talcum, Body Sachet and Bubble Bath are all just fantastic, and so fragrant and heavenly. I am enjoying them more than I can possibly say. Cindy and Cathy are so happy, too, with your lovely gifts to them...Your lovely gifts to Christina and Christopher too are deeply appreciated, and they will be writing to you soon to thank you...you are a dear, sweet girl...I hope you will not think me presumptuous, but I am enclosing a little colored photograph of myself that you may want to keep in your collection of pictures...hope your Christmas was the merriest, and that the New Year will bring you every wish in your good and generous heart.
