Zachary Taylor document signed as President on 24 May 1849. Serving just 16 months in office, Taylor is the third rarest Presidential autograph, only behind William Henry Harrison and James Garfield. Countersigned by Secretary of Treasury William Meridith, document appoints Lory Odell as collector of customs for the district of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Partially printed document measures 19'' x 12.5'', ornately framed to 40'' x 26.5''. Weighs 19 lbs. Folds, otherwise fine condition.
