Press kit promoting the dinner that was never to be, slated for the evening of 22 November 1963 in honor of JFK's arrival in Texas. A total of 16 original sheets are housed within a white pocket folder printed starkly in black, ''Texas Welcome Dinner / Press Kit'', with the Great Seal printed at top. Each typed sheet in the kit is headed ''FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE''. One release serves as a who's-who of the guest list, and others cover such specifics as the menu and dress code. The President's itinerary and even his motorcade line-up are listed as well. Folder measures 9'' x 14''. Light staining and creasing to folder, with rust to staples on pockets; very good. Press releases all measure either 8.5'' x 11'' or 8.5'' x 14'', in near fine condition.
