Large document signed by President Abraham Lincoln, signed in the first weeks of his presidency, on 28 March 1861. Lincoln appoints Nathaniel Low, Jr. as Postmaster of Dover New Hampshire. With a full ''Abraham Lincoln'' signature and also countersigned by William Seward, who served as Lincoln's Secretary of State. Very few Lincoln signatures exist from the four weeks of peace before the outbreak of Civil War on 12 April 1861. Document measures 17.5'' x 11.5'', partially affixed to a linen mat. Folds and some foxing, overall in very good condition.
