Wilder writes ''Hurry and learn to read, Mary, these and other improving words by / Thornton Wilder''. Jessel, a popular entertainer in the 1920's & 30's, writes in green ink: ''Listen you little thing, just you be like your Mamma / Georgie Jessel/31''. Signatures appear on a blank book page measuring 7'' x 8.25''. Page also has two pencil drawings. Slight discoloring to page not affecting signatures, else near fine.
