First edition of ''Adventures of Huckleberry Finn'' by Mark Twain, with illustrations by E.W. Kimble. New York: Charles L. Webster and Company: 1885. Of this beloved classic, Hemingway once said, ''All modern American literature comes from just one book by Mark Twain called 'Huckleberry Finn.''' All first printing points present including: (1) heading for chapter 6 reads ''decided'' (later corrected to ''decides'') on page 9; (2) ''Him and another man'' listed incorrectly on page 13; (3) page 57, 11 lines from bottom, reads: ''with the was''; (4) ''Heliotype Printing Co.'' imprint is present on frontis; (5) on page 155, the second ''5'' is missing; (6) page 143: ''l'' missing in ''Col.'' (that is part of the illustration at the top line of text). This copy lacks the title page and there is some light rubbing to boards, foxing to endpapers and light wear to leaves. With some archival restoration to preserve condition, overall an attractive copy in very good condition.
