George Bernard Shaw signed copy of ''Nine Plays'', published by Dodd, Mead & Company: New York: 1942. Shaw's autograph inscription to the half title page reads in full, ''Inscribed to Roul Tunley in gratitude for his valiant defence of the author / G. Bernard Shaw / Ayot St. Lawrence / 9th July 1943.'' Collection of plays runs 1147pp. Bound in green leather with embossed design and gilt lettering to spine. Measures 6'' x 8.25''. Backstrip is split from front hinge, and front board and fly-leaf are partially detached from spine. Pencil notations to rear free endpaper. Exterior is in fair condition, while interior is very good.
