Original press release with remarks by JFK to Khrushchev from the Office of the White House Press Secretary, dated 5 March 1962. JFK lays the groundwork regarding disarmament for the upcoming talks to be held in Geneva: ''our object now must be to make real progress toward disarmament, and not to engage in sterile exchanges.'' It would be about 6 months later that Khrushchev would place nuclear weapons in Cuba. Single page measures 8.5'' x 11''. Paper clip crease to upper left corner, else fine.
