Official ticket to the Birthday Parade of King Edward VIII held on 23 June 1936 at the Horse Guards Parade, a large parade ground off Whitehall in central London that is the commemorative site of the annual birthday of the Monarch. Edward ascended the throne as King Edward VIII in January of 1936 and then abdicated it in December of 1936 in order to marry Wallis Simpson, whom he remained married to until his death. Orange-red ticket reads in part, ''King's Birthday Parade / Tuesday, 23rd June, 1936 / Admit Bearer / to Inner Line of Sentries, Horse Guards Parade / Birdcage Walk, London, S.W.1''.
