Lot of two checks signed by Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., dated 9 March and 12 April 1936, and two ledger sheets from April 1936. Fairbanks divorced Mary Pickford in 1936 and married Sylvia, Lady Ashley in Paris in March 1936. One of the checks is made out to United Artists, the company he founded with Pickford, Charlie Chaplin and D.W. Griffith. Both are drawn on the London branch of the Guaranty Trust Company of New York in English and French currency. Folding to both and holes from stapling. Overall very good. Ledger sheets measure 13.5'' x 15.25'' and 9.5'' x 15.25''; checks measure 8'' x 4'' and 8.75'' x 4''. Fairbanks' Hollywood P.O. box address is listed at the top of each ledger sheet. Minor creasing and paper loss, else very good.
