Photojournalist Ralph Morse cabled this typewritten account of the May 7 Nazi surrender from Reims, France, to ''Time'' Magazine on 10 May 1945. Morse, at Allied headquarters when surrender documents were signed, reports in a detailed 6pp. account: ''...The colonel of the war room entered. All he said was: 'Fellows, this is it.'...I was so scared I was afraid I wouldn't be able to press the shutter. About 2:30 a.m. the generals started filing in...He then motioned for the Germans to be brought in...General Eisenhower was to meet the Germans...All he said was, 'Do you understand the terms of this unconditional surrender, and are you ready to comply with them?' Then General Eisenhower beamed and wanted pictures with his whole staff...'' Six 8.5'' x 11'' pages are stapled in upper left corner. Light toning and folds, very good condition.
