Richard Nixon typed letter signed, ''RN''. Letter is dated 4 March 1975, less than one year after he resigned the Presidency. Upon his personal stationery, Nixon writes to a Gerald G. Wagner, in full, ''Dear Gerry: To hear from a friend of long-standing is always heartwarming, and certainly nevermore so than during a period when our family has been weathering some stormy days. Each time we do, the skies ahead seem brighter, and that certainly was the case with your very kind and thoughtful letter of February 24th. And the photograph also brought happy memories of a pleasant interlude more than a decade ago.'' For many years, Wagner managed a venue in Washington D.C. often used for large events, and knew several Presidents personally. Single-page letter measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Folds, else near fine.
