Dwight D. Eisenhower autograph letter signed from WWII, dated 13 June (likely 1945). He writes to his wife Mamie, in part: ''My darling...I can understand your feelings about the Hollywood offer (assuming it is genuine) but my own convictions as to the quality of a man that will make money out of a public position of trust are very strong! I couldn't touch it - and would never allow such a thing to occur! We don't need it anyway - it's fun to be poor! But I'd like to see Miltons school get a good endowment - & if all my stipulations can be met - I'd have no objections. Oh well; that all seems so unimportant now...Loads of love...again - I love you / always / Ike''. Single page letter on ruled stationery measures 8'' x 10.5''. Toning and creasing, else near fine.
Dwight Eisenhower WWII ALS to His Wife -- ...about the Hollywood offer...I couldnt touch it - and would never allow such a thing to occur! We dont need it anyway - its fun to be poor!...
