President Chester A. Arthur photo signed. Sepia toned photo dates to circa 1882. Three-quarter-length portrait of Arthur depicts him posing in an overcoat with his top hat resting on a nearby table. Signed and inscribed along mat beneath photo, ''To John Jameson, with sincere regard, / Chester A. Arthur''. Most likely inscribed to John Jameson, an Amherst, Massachusetts lawyer appointed to postmaster in December 1876. Photo measures 16'' x 21'', mounted to a larger board, and then matted and framed. Very good.
