King Edward VIII recording of his abdication speech given in December 1936, personally owned by the former King. Edward VIII is famous for abdicating his throne in 1936 after only nine months of rule so that he could marry Wallis Simpson, a woman he would remain married to until his death in 1972. The two went on to serve the throne as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, living out their years at the beautiful Villa Windsor in Paris, France. Charcoal gray vinyl record sits inside a tan sleeve. Sold at the Edward VIII auction at Christie's in Rome on 17 June 2004. Very good.
