George Custer lot of 10 signed envelopes, made out in Custer's hand to his wife ''Mrs. Genl Custer''. George Custer married Elizabeth ''Libbie'' Bacon in 1864 after overcoming her family's initial disapproval. Envelopes are sent to Libbie at a variety of locations: in Monroe and Grand Rapids, MI, Louisville, KY, Washington, DC and Poughkeepsie, NY. All ten envelopes have original 3-cent stamps affixed. Postmarks bear the city and date without the year. Envelopes mostly measure 5.25'' x 3.25'', with expected toning and uneven tearing to right or left edge from opening. Overall very good condition.
